Dr. M. Suleman Shaikh was born 4th June 1942 (School register 9th February 1942) in a weaver family of Hala.
Early education M.G Government High School at Hala, Graduation in Medicine from Liaquat Medical College Jamshoro, Post Graduate Education at K.E. Medical College Lahore, DA (Punjab) and JPMC in the field of Anesthesiology , M.S Karachi University. Served as anesthetist at District Hospital Sanghar, Chief Anesthetist at LMC Hospital Jamshoro/Hyderabad, Assistant Prof. Anesthesia at JPMC Karachi. Established Pain Clinic in Karachi in 1976 introduced Acupunture as Technique of pain relief after acquring Diploma from Beijing. The Message of Shah Lateef was the inspiration since child hood. The visit to shrines during Friday night recital were trend setter in life. The literary activities and link with common men paved the future course of life. Anjman Farooghe Adab Hala, Lateef Majlis Govt. College Hyderabad and Hala Graduates Association were the early life endeavors. The experience cumulated into the formation of Sindh Graduate Association in 1971 which was registered in 1972. 1993 entered in the national aerena of social development to head SPO (Strengthening Participatory Organization) for 5 years (1993-98). Since January 2000 serving as Secretary Board of Trustees SZABIST. Poverty Alleviation has been focus of community activities. Participated in the process of establishment of PPAF and had the honour to be member of founding Board of Directors. Participated in the dialogues for promoting indigenous philanthropy in Pakistan since 1998 and was elected member Board of Directors of PCP (Pakistan Center for Philanthropy) in 2000. Participated in the formation of SRSO (Sindh Rural Support Organization) in 2003 and served as First Chief Executive Officer (Honorary) till 2005.
